Emeryville hosted the Buy Nothing Ride on the day after thanksgiving in 2007.
Emeryville has also hosted other sporadic rides either being on the last Friday of the month or the 4th Friday of the month when their are 5 Fridays.
The following YouTube video depicts a ride through some of Emeryville's suburban style retail developments to include the Bay Street mall, a mixed-use ground floor retail outdoor mall with market rate condominiums built above. As a footnote, the entire project, and the IKEA store next door, was built on top of an area of Native American burial mounds.
